Born and raised right in Georgia’s 13th Congressional District, Everton is an educator and program director with district, state, and federal education policy experience. He is the son of Jamaican immigrants and a 2009 graduate of Gwinnett County Schools.
Elected in 2018, he is the first person of color and youngest-ever member of the Gwinnett County Board of Education, where he served as board chair during the pandemic.
Everton holds a Bachelor’s in Applied Mathematics from Harvard College, a Master’s in Policy, Organizations, and Leadership from Stanford University, and a Doctorate in Education Leadership from Harvard Graduate School of Education.
